Meet Our Staff At Our Animal Sanctuary In California

As an all-volunteer animal sanctuary in California, we do not have any paid staff members.  Our animals are cared for on a daily basis by a very dedicated group of volunteers.   Our volunteers are available24 hours a day to provide the animals with round the clock care when sick or injured.  All animal caregivers are carefully trained to provide the best care and treatment for all our rescued dogs and other animals.

Michele Padilla-President and Founder

Ms. Padilla  has extensive experience with animals. She has had an affinity for animals and pets  at an early age. Michele has earned a B.S. in Animal Science and Management from the University of California at Davis.  While at UC Davis, she participated in a number of internships at the campus veterinary hospital as well as at campus horse and farm animal facilities.  Following graduation, Michele volunteered with and worked for a number of Los Angeles area animal rescue organizations and veterinary hospitals.  She has dedicated her life to helping animals and to promoting a more compassionate world for all.

A personal note from Michele

I believe that my love of animals was instilled in me from my Mother and Grandmother who always loved animals and always did what they could to help animals in need.  Some of my earliest memories are of my mom rescuing wild birds and other animals who were close to death.  She cared for them and most of the time, they survived and were able to go to rescues or be released.  From a young age, I always stopped to help sick and injured animals.  I always begged my parents to stop for strays dogs who were running in the streets.  I  remember being frustrated when we could not help an animal.  And I could not wait til I was in a position to do more.  I have always been the type of person who would do anything for animals, which is why I opened an animal sanctuary in California.  I have always been willing to make any sacrifice to help save lives because I believe that there is nothing more important in the world.

We are always in need of assistance at our animal sanctuary in California-If you would like to volunteer and are willing to be educated on the care of animals, we would certainly appreciate any help you can give. If you are not able to give some time, please consider sponsoring an animal or making a donation.  Your donation or sponsorship is tax deductible and you will be helping the animals tremendously with your love and care.  Remember, don’t buy a dog or other animal when you can  adopt one in need.

Not to Hurt…

Not to hurt our humble brethren (the animals)

Is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough.

We have a higher mission:

To be of service to them whenever they require it.

~ St. Francis of Assisi
