About Us

 

Hooves & Paws Animal Rescue was created in order to bridge the gap between animal rescue and animal rights. We believe that the companion animals with whom we share our homes are not the only animals who deserve our compassion and respect. We have a responsibility to widen our circle of compassion to all the other animals on this planet.

 

 
We also believe very strongly in personal responsibility. Each and every one of us makes a multitude of decisions and choices everyday that affect other people, animals, and our planet. We rarely stop to think how much power we have simply by how we spend our money. If we spend our money on products or practices that involve the abuse or killing of animals, then we are directly supporting those practices. Changing our habits as consumers is a small sacrifice when you consider that animals suffer the ultimate sacrifice - their lives.
Here are some simple things you can do NOW to help animals:

 

 

  • Spay and neuter companion animals
  • Become a vegetarian/vegan and only buy cruelty-free products
  • Avoid wearing fur, leather, and wool
  • Don't patronize zoos, circuses, rodeos, or other events where animals are used as entertainment
  • Write letters to your representatives supporting pro-animal and environmental legislation
  • Volunteer your time at animal shelters
  • Buy environmentally-friendly products and always recycle
