BanditName: Bandit
Breed: Shepherd Mix Age: 5yrs Meet the amazing and handsome Bandit. He is a 5-year-old shepherd mix who could not be friendlier. He is great with everyone he meets which includes strangers and kids. He has great training – knows all the basic commands and is great off-leash. He is not a bolter and will stay right with you on a hike. Bandit has moderate energy, but has great self-control and can settle down very quickly when you tell him too. He is also great on leash – no issues and has not been a puller.
Bandit is currently living with 4 other dogs – some are dominant and one is only 10 pounds. He is great with all of them. He eats next to everyone for his two meals a day and never gets aggressive or protective over his bowl. He is very easy going. Bandit has a tendency to be on the dominant side but he is still extremely social and cordial with the other dogs. He would do great with another socialized dog – I don’t see him wanting to live with a dog who is really pushy, disrespectful, or has unsocialized mannerisms such as constantly wanting to mount, etc. Bandit is living with two cats and is doing well. He is very interested, but his interest is waning the longer he stays with us. He always listens to correction and is never aggressive with the cats – just very interested. If he were to go to a home with a cat, it would need to be indoor situation and the interactions would need to be monitored until he one-day loses interest. Bandit appears house broken, but you would need to monitor him in the beginning. He is currently sleeping in an exercise pen and is extremely quiet and settles nicely at night. During the day he is staying in a dog run and is quiet – no separation anxiety or unwanted behaviors. He is not destructive – he has plenty of blankets he could destroy and has not touched any of them. Bandit is not an escape artist – no fence jumping or digging under fences. Bandit does like to be with you and will follow you everywhere. If you stand and talk to someone for a while, he just lays down and waits patiently. He is a very fun dog, great personality, great training, great energy and self-control. He was an owner turn-in at a shelter – he lived with kids and was turned in due to the family moving. All I can say is that family’s loss is definitely someone’s gain! Because it is not often that I get to foster such a ready-made dog. You just have to meet him!!! |
